Nearly One Year Later | Celebrating St. Augustine High School’s Rigaud Health & Wellness Center
St. Augustine High School, New Orleans
Woodward Design & Build
In October 2024, St. Augustine High School in New Orleans proudly unveiled its new Rigaud Health and Wellness Center. The ribbon cutting marked the completion of a 14-month rebuild after a devastating fire in 2021 destroyed the school’s original gym.
Now, nearly one year later, the center continues to shine as a hub of strength, resilience, and opportunity for St. Augustine’s students and community.
The 33,760-square-foot facility features a state-of-the-art weight room, nutrition station, new locker rooms, offices, and conference spaces. Designed to maximize every square inch, it serves not only varsity basketball and football teams but also welcomes alumni and community supporters.
D. Honoré Construction is proud to have contributed to this remarkable project by delivering durable concrete solutions for the facility’s foundation and wellness spaces. Our work provided the base for a building that now stands as a symbol of perseverance, community, and investment in future generations.
As we look back nearly one year later, we celebrate the leadership, alumni contributions, and construction expertise that made this transformation possible. The Rigaud Health and Wellness Center is more than a building—it’s a place of hope, growth, and achievement for young men of St. Augustine High School and the greater New Orleans community.
At D. Honoré Construction, we are honored to have played a role in this journey and look forward to building more projects that serve both people and purpose.
